I am not really a list/task oriented person. Ask my wife (who happens to LOVE lists). She’ll tell you the same. However an app that I can set to remind me to call the Kennel about the dog’s pending visit or my kids doctor’s office about scheduling a yearly check up is pretty cool in my eyes. Better even then setting an event on my calendar (as I don’t necessairly need it to show up on my Outlook calendar). That’s the goal of TalkLater by Simpleleap.

Aimed at being a simple to use call reminder utility that helps you remember those important phone calls that you need to make. The application allows you to create an alert directly from your call log, address book or within TalkLater itself, and it succeeds pretty well.

I figured I’d give this simple app a try and I grabbed the trial OTA though they also offer a version for download and install via Blackberry Desktop Manager. Once installed, the app was running rather quickly and was pretty intuitive.

When launched you are first greeted with a screen of all set alerts, to add an alert simply press the menu button and select either Add Alert from Contact or simply Add Alert. The Add Alert from Contact feature is nice, as you select who you have to contact, the number you want to call them on and it auto populates those areas. The rest is as simple as setting an alarm. Once set you can also modify the alarm or delete it. There are also several other options (such as the shameless “Tell A Friend” option that allows you to well, tell a friend about the product.)

Some of the Features:

 Unlimited number of alerts

Keeps a detailed log of all TalkLater alerts

Remind yourself with a pop-up, vibration, ringtone, or a mix of all three

Add short notes to your alerts so you remember why you’re calling

Create an alert directly from your phone’s address book or call log

Execute the phone call right from the alert popup

Keep TalkLater current with built in Check for Update feature

Quickly find what you’re looking for with built in help

The product sells for $6.99 but you can try it free for 5 alerts. You can grab it at https://simpleleap.com/buyTalklater.htm The first 20 People can Use Code TALKNOW to get this app for only $5.59 (thats a 20% DISCOUNT!).
