Free Theme Mayhem!

Its been a while since I posted some free themes here, (actually, its been a while since I’ve posted anything here other than an OS Update it seems). I’ve skipped the recent Bold OS’ as reports are mixed on how good they are. Anyways, I thought I would share some theme love with you today, so here goes!

First up is a cool little Green and Gold theme for the upcoming St. Patty’s Day festivities (who doesn’t like a valid reason to drink green beer?). It seems that Cherri Chiodo (of http://allthingsberry.com/) has come up with a St. Patty’s theme for anyone who thinks they’re Irish (and lets face it, on March 17th we all think we’re irish). With Custom made icons — BRAND NEW set, never seen before, Custom made meters — signal, battery, wifi, volume, Custom made wallpapers, Custom fonts, Custom menus/buttons, and True Today+ format (home screen icons are 100% customizable) this theme certainly is lucky. Up next is a gem of a theme for the 8100, 8300, 8800 & 9000 lines. If you’re a fan of those mop top boys who took the world by storm in the 60′s then you might want to grab this Beatles Based theme by Jennifer at Cool Blackberry Themes. Its a different looking theme with the icons on the left side of the screen. Always something cool with Jennifer. You can grab it for the Bold HERE and for the 8300/8800 HERE and the 8100 HERE.

Going to end today’s free theme mayhem with TWO free themes for the storm. This first one is for you romantics out there. Riya over at Black Light Themes has created Roses for the storm. I have to say, if I had the storm (or my wife had one) I would load this theme in a minute. I love the images of the roses and the coloring on them. Add to it the functionality of the theme and you have an almost perfect theme. You have to register for a free membership at blacklightthemes, but its worth it. Grab it OTA.

And finally for the Storm, another theme from BlackLightThemes, this one from Tiffany. Futurist is a spaceship inspired theme with some pretty cool features (I wish this was available for the Bold). It’s Designed to look like a futuristic display like in a spaceship etc, Hidden Today items show up in the box when you touch the icons, Today icons are hard coded (calendar, Messages, Call Log, and Profiles) Messages and SMS are combined, The dock at the top is customizable (your top row of 4 in apps), Today Items (side dock) spring in from the left when touched, and the dock icons at the top bounce when touched and the Apps screen focus is a small blue triangle that points up to the icon. Its a really cool theme. Grab it OTA (registration required).

Wow. Here you go this week we have a couple more *FREE* themes. These themes are for the curve, the bold, the pearl and 8800. Check them out.

First up is Distortion by eVeek. Its available for the Bold, the Curve (83xx), 8100 and 8800 models. Its pretty cool and grungy looking. The home screen is basic with four icons on it and the date/time. Its a pretty simple theme that makes a statement. Grab it HERE

Next up is a free theme from LordJudass @ Crackberry and is available for the 83xx models. Its a pretty nice looking Zen theme with the bottom dock (customizable icons). Azul is a nice simple, uncluttered theme and one that would go good on any curve.

It’s rare that I come across a theme (especially a FREE theme) that hits so many devices. This one does. And unlike many of the children style themes out there I like this one. The dark background with the white icons and text is a nice change, and the icons, while a little childish aren’t over done. They look nice. The homescreen (on the 9000 anyways) has 5 icons and the messages/calendar section making it a nice today screen. The rest of the theme is well done.

This week I have a couple of themes for you Curve and Flip Owners (the rest of you calm down, the week isn’t over yet is it?). The first is for the Curve (and of the 83xx models) and it a pretty cool looking theme from 4gezzus @ Themes4BB. Omnipresent is a Zen Sidebar theme with (what we hope are) customizable icons on the home screen. The wp is a pretty creepy looking flaming eye with some other eye catching wall papers. The other theme today is the Pink Sunburst theme for you Flip owners. This is a little theme whipped up by Tiffany over at Black Light Themes and its a pretty psychadelic theme thats along the lines of the old Windows Light speed wall paper. Except its Pink. The icons are boldish in look and feel and its also available for the curve and a couple of other models. You can grab it OTA @ BlacklightThemes.com.

In honor of the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Jennifer @ CoolBlackBerryThemes has released TWO (yes, TWO!) Obama based themes. One for the Curve (83xx) and 8800 and one for the Bold (9000). Both sport images of 44 (though the Bold version has both Obama and Biden in some of the images) and feature a bottom dock on the home screen with customizable icons. The icons appear to be the now famous Bold Icons, but they fit in well with these two themes. So a lot (and boy do I mean a lot) of love has been shown to you bold and storm owners lately. It seems like every other day there’s a new beta leaked for those two devices. What about those rocking an older device? Well, no worries, RIM has you covered as well. A bevy of 4.5.0.x releases came out last night for you 8xxx model users and abusers. Find the links below. Free Theme Round up

So its been a couple of days since I last posted and to make it up to you, here’s a bevy of free themes for your favorite blackberries. Some of the themes included cover the Curve, the Blackberry Flip and the Bold. Enjoy!

First up, three themes for the blackberry flip (the 82XX series). The first I want to share with you is the Sexy Flip theme available at pimpmyberry.com. The main screen has 21 customizable icons on it that apparently pulsate (or something) when scrolled over. The scroll is free (you can go up and down and left and right) and the dialog box is semitransparent. Don’t worry, you can change the fonts if you like. Also for the flip are two pretty cool looking themes called Glass Eye and Wind (I’ll let you figure out which is which). I don’t have much to go on with these two themes (as I can’t load them on the Bold) but they look really slick and the icons are nice. Next up are two themes for the 8300 series (the Curve). The first is Starry Haze and its a purplish theme with stars. Its pretty cool and would actually go good on the wife’s curve as its a little girly. The main screen has the apps icons on the left side and everything else is fairly easy to navigate. This next theme almost (I said almost) want to give my bold back for a curve. Its a super cool, kickass Super Mario theme for the curve. From the wall papers to the icons, this theme gets super mario. Pair it with a mario ring tone and you’d be set. Talk about cool. Its a bottom dock theme that works rather well. I may load this one on my wife’s phone instead… Grab it OTA @ themes4bb

Lastly are two pretty cool themes for the Bold. The first is near and dear to my heart as its based on one of the fastest growing Linux Distributions around. The Ubuntu Theme for the bold. Complete with a login screen for the locked screen. The bottom dock has a couple of cool animations that occur (such as the popup messages and calendar) when you scroll over the icons on the main page. It is a little memory hungry but if you dump some of your apps (like viigo) you should be ok to run this one. You can grab it OTA @ pimpmyberry.com. Check out the video and the images below.

The last one tonight is another theme for the bold. This is a 10 icon L theme with messages and calendar on the main screen. Its currently my theme and I keep coming back to this one. I changed the wallpaper to one of the sample images (I like the way this looks better) but its a kick ass theme all the same. As you scroll over the customizable icons on the main screen you get the application name, or in the case of weather eye, you get the temp and weather description. Its very cool.
