Nov 19, 2009 DIY, Tips & Tricks
Read the rest of this entry » There comes a time in every blackberry users life when he (or she) needs to release their pin so it can go live on a farm somewhere nice with other released pins or more accurately, so they can resell their device and let the pin go too. Most of the time, users are forced to deal with their carrier and have to wait for the carrier’s drones to do it for you. Not any more. I’m going to show you how to do it in less then five minutes as long as you have a device with an available pin (or no device at all?).

DIY 9v Battery Powered USB charger!
Nov 4, 2009 DIY
This little treat comes to us via AnyThingButiPod and is actually a cool little DIY hack. How many times have you needed a little extra juice for your blackberry (or other device) at the end of the day but weren’t able to find a wall jack or fireup the computer to plug in to the usb ports? Happens to me all the time. Now, with this little device, I could simply hook my Bold up to a 9v (or other) battery and call it a day.
The parts cost less then $10 total and there’s little more then 5 solder connections to make before its done and ready to go. Do need to double check the power setup on the usb to make sure you connect to the right pins, but otherwise, this handy little DIY hack could extend your battery life for you!
