If you’re like me, your three year old’s favorite thing to do is grab daddy’s blackberry and start pressing as many buttons as possible before you’re able to wrestle the device out of their little cheerio encrusted hands. Right? (please tell me its not just me!)
I fixed this on the computer by downloading a little gem called Maddie that essentially locks out the keyboard (unless you know the secret word) and lets them type whatever they want while trying to teach them letters. I don’t know how good of a teaching tool it is, but G would play with it for a while before she became bored, so it works. Thankfully, someone has decided to come up with the same for the blackberry.
Enter BabyGo by zeebu. The program is simple really. Instead of locking the keyboard to everything, it locks it so that all you can do is type letters. As a letter is pressed, the letter block appears on the screen and an appealing voice says it out loud. I downloaded it the other day and my 3 year old, Em had fun with it for half an hour. Which is good. Plus, it locks her out of doing everything else…
